The PB3 (Power Board 3) is an ultra-lightweight battery combiner, which is able to separated the offload and isolation faulty servo power card, specifically for the FrSky D8R (V2, -II, -plus) receivers. This is the most important safety additions. Specially designed for Glow/GAS airplane.

This is enhanced version of PB1. As the well-proven PB2, it received an ultra fast and self repair reliable Poly Switch fuses with vibration resistant massive connectors. All channel is protected and the disconnected servo circuit are fitted with individual LED error channels. For sudden current demands large-capacity capacitor booster is installed. The high-current splinting completely relieves the receiver's internal circuit.  The two batteries of the circuit powered always use the higher voltage battery. In case of equalization it share the loaden. Any case of battery failure automatically convert to still running. It can be connected via a dual voltage divider with full telemetry monitoring and alarm can be built up!

The PB3 main parameters:

- Direct connection for FrSky D8R (V2, -II, -plus),
- 2x8A current capacity
- 2 x 4s or 5s Ni-MH battery (or equivalent other battery), or 2 BEC powering (4V - 10V)
- Reverse polarity protection,
- For high-speed, auto-switching battery supply,
- 8-channel servo output and 1 x standard servo control / chanel (tripping current 1.3A)
- Self repair fuses,
- 1 LED alarms per channel,
- LED battery status indicator (Akku1 and Akku2)
- High value booster capacitor,
- Massive offload to the receiver,
- Vibration-resistant connections,
- Dimensions: 85x36x35 mm (width, height, depth),
- Weight: 22.2g.


The PB3 must be plugged directly to the connector of D8R receiver and it must be fixed inside the airplane like that.

Electrical connections and polarity:

Two same battery and two same BEC must be plugged to  Akku1 and Akku2 connector. The central pin + (plus), the two outer - (negative).

The next LED to the connector indicate the properly connected batteries .

The 8 channel servo tasks in the right order over the connector is available (from left to right: CH4, CH3, CH2, CH1, CH8, CH7, CH6, CH5). The pins from top to bottom: Negative, Positive, Signal.

The Telem1 and Telem2 access points for dual voltage divider is built. This is a sufficiently short little cable can be soldered to the voltage divider points A1 and A2, so both battery voltage is simultaneously measured (for telemetry alarms)!

If any servo short circuit is compromised (eg. Due to a short circuit servo), it is disconnected and the other servo will be protected by the entire system faultly. The resulting tripped channel indikate of LED.

The indicator makes it easier to debug.

The solution depends on the speed circuit current size, typically very fast. The curve below shows the Poly Switch-speed tripping current context:

The used Polyswitch have pointed to protect the standard-sized analog servos (or smaller sized servos). Other fuse protection is possible by incorporating other sizes (power consumption) servos (eg. A digital servos).

After the termination of the fuse circuit self repaired and reused.
